Untether AI's Technology
Untether AI asserts that its chips offer superior performance and energy efficiency when compared to competing products.
Founded in 2018 and based in Toronto, Untether had secured over $150 million in venture funding. Investors included prominent firms such as Intel Capital, Radical Ventures, and Tracker Capital Management.
The company launched an AI chip in October, designed to facilitate the implementation of physical AI applications in various machines. These include applications within the automotive industry and in agricultural equipment.
Recent AMD Acquisitions
This acquisition follows AMD’s earlier announcement of the purchase of Brium, a platform focused on AI software optimization.
