Genflow Secures $11M Investment from BGF

Genflow, a brand-building agency with offices in London and Los Angeles, provides an e-commerce and mobile technology platform empowering influencers to establish their own businesses, has secured $11 million in a new funding round.

The investment was spearheaded by U.K.-based investor BGF. This capital infusion will enable Genflow to expand its services and pursue international growth opportunities.

Established in 2016 by entrepreneur Shan Hanif, Genflow was created to assist social media influencers in cultivating their brands and monetizing their audience reach. The company integrates the capabilities of a conventional branding agency – encompassing strategy, design, and planning – with the technological infrastructure of a software-driven business.

This positions Genflow as a brand-as-a-service (BaaS) platform, facilitating the development of influencers’ own digital and physical products rather than solely promoting external brands. It also allows them to introduce their own membership programs, exclusive communities, mobile applications, or direct-to-consumer brands.

“Genflow delivers a comprehensive infrastructure, covering everything from design, development, manufacturing, and logistics to strategy, marketing, and content creation, all aimed at generating revenue and maximizing profit,” the company states.

Genflow’s clientele consists of well-established influencers who generally command substantial followings on platforms like Instagram and YouTube.

“Genflow enables influencers to initiate their own ventures, moving beyond traditional brand partnerships. For individuals with an audience who desire direct ownership of their business and community, Genflow provides the means to achieve that,” explains Hanif. “We furnish them with a complete infrastructure for launching a business – encompassing design, manufacturing, development, content, strategy, and marketing – all in a single location. This allows us to deliver exceptional results that drive revenue.”

Hanif notes that influencers typically engage Genflow either with a pre-existing concept or seeking assistance in identifying a suitable brand to launch. “We utilize ‘Genlytics,’ our proprietary software, to determine the optimal brand opportunity by analyzing their audience data, follower demographics, past brand collaborations, and potential sales volume,” he clarifies.

Following this, Genflow integrates the client and initiates the brand-building process, offering two primary pathways: the creation of gated content, membership clubs, communities, and mobile apps, or the development of direct-to-consumer brands featuring physical products.

The former resembles platforms like OnlyFans or Patreon, offering exclusive access to content. The latter represents a standard D2C e-commerce model, involving product design, collaboration with manufacturers for sampling and production, and comprehensive logistics management.

“In either scenario, we then orchestrate the brand launch, formulate the marketing strategy, and collaborate with the influencer to introduce the brand to the market,” Hanif adds.

“What’s noteworthy is that, unlike typical startups that identify a problem, assemble a team, secure funding, and then seek customers, we’ve pioneered an ‘audience-first approach.’ We already possess the audience and simply need to provide the appropriate products, resulting in immediate success. The performance metrics for our brands are exceptional: conversion rates ranging from 5-30%, a 20% rate of repeat purchases, and approximately a 6:1 return on Facebook advertising spend.”

“We are pleased to report that every brand we’ve launched to date is profitable and experiencing year-over-year growth, demonstrating the effectiveness of our methodology.”
