TC Disrupt 2021: New Features & Virtual Startup Alley

TechCrunch Disrupt 2021: Planning for a Virtual Event
Although spring is approaching (particularly in the United States), preparations for TechCrunch Disrupt 2021, scheduled for September 21-23, should begin now. This entirely virtual conference provides a platform for global makers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors to connect, collaborate, and foster growth.
Startup Alley: A Core Component of Disrupt
Startup Alley consistently represents a significant aspect of the Disrupt conference. It’s the venue where numerous innovative, pioneering early-stage startups demonstrate their technological capabilities, products, platforms, and services. This year, adjustments are being implemented to maximize the benefits for exhibiting founders within a virtual setting.
What’s New with Startup Alley at Disrupt 2021?
Numerous changes are being introduced to enhance the exhibiting experience at Startup Alley during Disrupt 2021. Applying for a Startup Alley Pass unlocks a substantial opportunity for exposure:
- Elevator Pitch Opportunity. Each startup exhibiting will be guaranteed a dedicated slot to deliver a concise, 60-second elevator pitch during a focused feedback session. The audience will comprise TechCrunch personnel and a global audience of Disrupt attendees.
- The Startup Alley Crawl Experience. Dedicated hour-long crawls will be scheduled for each startup category. During these crawls, the Disrupt Stage will broadcast live interviews with a selection of founders from Startup Alley within that specific category.
- Startup Battlefield Wild Card Entry. The Startup Battlefield is a renowned competition. Previous victors include companies like Vurb, Dropbox, Mint, and Yammer. Two startups selected from the Startup Alley exhibitors by the TechCrunch Editorial team will contend in this year’s Battlefield for a $100,000 prize (equity-free).
- Startup Alley+ Program. All Startup Alley exhibitors are eligible for Startup Alley+, but participation is limited to a maximum of 50 companies. These selected founders will receive a curated experience, at no extra cost, designed to provide additional opportunities, learning, exposure, and success even before Disrupt commences. This includes access to founder masterclasses, participation in a pitch competition at Extra Crunch Live, and introductions to prominent investors within the TechCrunch network. Secure your Startup Alley Pass promptly, as StartupAlley+ activities begin with TC Early Stage: Marketing and Fundraising in July, offering free attendance to all Startup Alley+ companies.
Important Note: The early-bird application pricing for Startup Alley ($199) concludes on May 13 at 11:59 pm (PST). Applying sooner results in cost savings.
