Isotropic Systems Secures $40 Million in Funding
Isotropic Systems, a company headquartered in the U.K., has successfully completed a funding round, raising $40 million. This investment was significantly oversubscribed, indicating strong investor confidence. The funds will be instrumental in advancing the company’s next-generation broadband terminal towards the production stage, aligning with their 2022 timeline.
This Series B funding brings the total capital raised by Isotropic Systems to $60 million. SES led the investment, with notable participation from Boeing HorizonX, Space Angels, and Orbital Ventures. Furthermore, the round included grant support from the U.K. government.
Revolutionizing Broadband Terminals
Isotropic Systems is focused on developing a novel broadband terminal capable of operating across multiple frequencies. This innovative design allows simultaneous connections to several satellite networks without compromising signal quality or data transfer rates for any individual link.
The resulting product will provide ground-based connectivity, enabling customers to maintain connections with a variety of emerging satellite broadband networks. These include networks currently being established by companies such as OneWeb, SpaceX, Intelsat, SES, and Amazon.
Facility Expansion and Production Timeline
The company is establishing a new 20,000 square-foot testing and prediction facility located near Reading in the U.K.
Isotropic Systems anticipates having the initial operational version of its ground terminal ready for production by 2022. Successful implementation of this technology could significantly benefit both satellite network providers and end-users.

If the terminal performs as expected, customers will no longer be limited to choosing a single satellite network. They can utilize a single hardware solution to connect to multiple networks simultaneously.
