Poshmark CEO Steps Down, Namsun Kim Appointed Successor

Poshmark, a leading fashion resale marketplace, revealed on Monday that its founder, Manish Chandra, will be relinquishing his role as Chief Executive Officer.

Namsun Kim, previously holding the position of executive chairman since April, has been named as Chandra’s replacement.

Founding and Growth Under Chandra’s Leadership

Chandra established Poshmark in 2011, initiating the venture alongside three co-founders within a Silicon Valley garage.

Throughout his tenure, the company successfully completed an initial public offering and was subsequently acquired by Naver in 2022.

Poshmark has expanded significantly, now boasting a user base of 150 million individuals.

Following almost 15 years of service, Chandra will assume a position on the company’s board of directors.

Chandra’s Farewell Message

In a communication addressed to Poshmark users, Chandra expressed, “To have led this company has been the pinnacle of my career.

Each accomplishment and every obstacle overcome were directly attributable to the community.

It has been a profound honor to observe the growth of each member, consistently drawing inspiration from your collective energy.

My sincere gratitude extends to each of you for your trust, ingenuity, and the collaborative spirit that defines this extraordinary community.”

Kim’s Background and Transition

Kim currently holds the role of president of investments at Naver.

Chandra stated that Kim has been collaborating closely with him since the start of the year to facilitate a seamless leadership transition.

This collaborative effort was designed to ensure continuity and minimize disruption during the change in leadership.
