Ctrl+Enter to Complete URLs - Save Time & Keystrokes

Simplify Web Address Entry with Keyboard Shortcuts
Many users find it tedious to manually type out the complete web address, including "http://", "www.", and the ".com" extension. Fortunately, a convenient shortcut exists to streamline this process.
Modern web browsers, including versions like Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox, offer a built-in feature. Pressing Ctrl + Enter will automatically append "www." and ".com" to the entered URL.
How to Use the Shortcut
Begin by typing the core part of the website address into your browser's address bar. For example, type "howtogeek".
Then, simultaneously press Ctrl + Enter on your keyboard.
This action effectively saves you from typing 15 characters, increasing efficiency.
Additional Keystroke Combinations
Beyond the standard Ctrl + Enter shortcut, several other combinations are available:
- Ctrl + Enter - Automatically completes addresses ending in *.com
- Shift + Enter - Automatically completes addresses ending in *.net
- Ctrl + Shift + Enter - Automatically completes addresses ending in *.org
To open the completed address in a new tab, incorporate the Alt key into the combination. For instance, Alt + Ctrl + Enter will complete a *.com address and open it in a new tab.
