Swizzle Ventures Raises $5M for Women’s Health and Wealth Fund

Swizzle Ventures Launches with $5 Million Fund I

A new investment fund, Swizzle Ventures, has emerged, securing over $5 million for its inaugural fund, Fund I. The fund was established by Jessica Kamada, previously the Chief Operating Officer of the marketing agency Bamboo, as indicated in a recent SEC filing.

The firm’s fundraising did not disclose a specific target amount. Swizzle Ventures began operations in 2023 and operates as an early-stage investor.

Focus on Women-Centric Solutions

Swizzle Ventures is dedicated to investing in companies that tackle critical issues impacting women. These areas of focus include caregiving solutions, health and wellness innovations, and financial empowerment tools.

According to data from PitchBook, the firm has already made at least one investment: Mavida Health, a mental healthcare platform.

Attempts to obtain a comment from Jessica Kamada were unsuccessful.

Kamada’s Background and Experience

Jessica Kamada announced her departure from Bamboo approximately one year ago, after a tenure of seven and a half years. Initially, she served as the Vice President of Growth Marketing before ascending to the role of COO and joining the board of directors.

Prior to her time at Bamboo, Kamada contributed her expertise as a growth advisor to RedDrop, a company specializing in menstrual education for young adolescents.

Bamboo has a proven track record of collaborating with startups and established tech companies, including Great Jones, Lemonaid, and Dropbox.

Timing and Market Opportunity

Swizzle Ventures is entering a dynamic market landscape with significant opportunities for innovation focused on women. Several factors contribute to this favorable timing:

  • The caregiving sector is experiencing a crisis driven by the escalating costs associated with family care.
  • Women are poised to benefit from a substantial wealth transfer in the coming years.
  • Women’s health remains a crucial and increasingly prominent topic, particularly following recent legal developments.

These converging trends create a compelling environment for investments that address the unique needs and challenges faced by women.
