Vectary Raises $7.3M to Revolutionize 3D and AR Design

Vectary, a platform specializing in 3D and augmented reality (AR) design, has secured $7.3 million in funding. The investment round was spearheaded by EQT Ventures, a European investment firm, with additional participation from existing investor BlueYard, based in Berlin.
Vectary focuses on simplifying the creation of professional-grade 3D designs, making it available to a wider audience. The platform has attracted over one million creators globally and currently serves more than a thousand digital agencies and creative studios.
The company reports a 300% surge in AR views, attributing this growth to the increased online activity resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. More and more companies are now utilizing 3D and AR technologies to present their products.
Vectary was established in 2014 by Michal Koor, serving as CEO, and Pavol Sovis, the company’s CTO, both with backgrounds in design and technology.
A significant obstacle to wider 3D adoption has been the difficulty in utilizing and distributing content generated by conventional 3D design software, a challenge Vectary aims to overcome.
While companies like Microsoft, Facebook, and Apple are working to improve consumer access to AR, Vectary contends that the available creative tools are still insufficient. The company anticipates that effortless 3D/AR content creation and distribution will be crucial for widespread acceptance of these technologies.
Vectary empowers designers and creative professionals to integrate 2D designs onto 3D models directly from Figma or Sketch, build interactive 3D product configurators within Webflow using the Embed API, and incorporate 3D elements into presentations.
