SpaceX Inspiration4 Launch: Watch Live

Inspiration4: A Historic All-Civilian Spaceflight
Following an extensive period of promotion, including an NFT auction and a Netflix documentary series, the moment has arrived. The four-member crew of Inspiration4 is scheduled to embark on their space journey today, contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
What Sets This Mission Apart?
This launch distinguishes itself from all preceding missions due to a significant factor: none of the individuals onboard are professional astronauts. This mission represents the inaugural instance of an entirely civilian crew undertaking a spaceflight.
Meet the Crew
Let's introduce the individuals who will be making history:
- Jared Isaacman, a 38-year-old entrepreneur and billionaire, is the mission commander. His wealth originates from Shift4 Payments, a payment processing firm that became publicly traded last year.
- Sian Proctor, a 51-year-old community college professor holding a doctorate in science education, will serve as the pilot. She was a finalist in NASA’s 2009 astronaut selection process, though ultimately not chosen. She is poised to become the first Black woman to pilot a spacecraft.
- Hayley Arceneaux, a 29-year-old physician assistant at St. Jude’s Research Hospital and a childhood cancer survivor, will fulfill the role of crew health officer.
- Christopher Sembroski, a 42-year-old data engineer at Lockheed Martin and a former counselor at Space Camp, will act as the mission specialist.
The crew will be traveling to orbit within a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, propelled by a Falcon 9 rocket. Their journey will encompass three days orbiting Earth, culminating in a splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean near Florida’s coastline.
How to Watch the Launch
A live launch webcast will be hosted on SpaceX’s YouTube channel, beginning at 3:45 PM EST. The launch window is scheduled to open at 8:02 PM EST.
As of Sunday, Inspiration4 reported a 70% probability of favorable weather conditions at the Kennedy Space Center. A secondary launch window is available at the same time on the following day, should a postponement be necessary.
