Introducing Dynascore: Dynamic Music Synchronization

Howard Lerman, recognized as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yext, is introducing a new venture named Wonder Inventions. Today marks the official launch of their inaugural product: Dynascore.

Addressing the Challenges of Video Content Creation

Lerman explained that Dynascore was conceived to tackle the increasing need for video content, which frequently utilizes stock music. However, stock music is often not tailored to the specific requirements of a video, either in terms of length or overall fit.

Producers often face the difficulty of editing videos to accommodate pre-existing music, as simply shortening a song by a few seconds can disrupt its flow.

How Dynascore Adapts Music to Video

Dynascore possesses the capability to modify existing musical pieces to align with videos of any duration. It also allows for precise control over musical transitions, pauses, and endings.

A demonstration showcased the platform’s ability to seamlessly integrate various musical tracks with a fitness commercial, adjusting both the commercial’s length and the placement of transitions.

The "Morphone" Concept and Musicoherence

To accomplish this, Dynascore analyzes a song and deconstructs it into its fundamental musical units, termed “morphones.” These morphones are then reassembled to maximize “musicoherence,” ensuring the resulting arrangement maintains a natural, song-like quality.

Lerman clarified that Dynascore’s technology is centered on adapting existing musical compositions, rather than generating new ones from scratch.

The platform currently features a library of public domain “Masterworks” alongside approximately 1,000 original compositions.

AI's Role in Music Reconstruction

“Many companies are leveraging AI to compose music,” Lerman noted, “but the results often fall short of quality.” He believes that while AI can’t replicate the artistry of human composers, it can effectively reconstruct music in a way that resonates with listeners.

He stated that computers cannot truly *write* music, in the same way AI cannot author a compelling film or book, but they can skillfully rearrange existing musical elements.

Pricing and Availability

Following a complimentary trial period, Dynascore subscriptions begin at $19 per month. The software is available as a desktop application for both Mac and Windows operating systems.

Furthermore, an extension has been developed for Adobe Premiere Pro, and a Developer API allows for integration with other applications, including Biteable and Rocketium.

Wonder Inventions: A Portfolio of Innovation

Dynascore represents the first product from Wonder Inventions, with plans for a broader portfolio of innovative offerings.

“We are not establishing Wonder Inventions around a single concept,” Lerman emphasized. “The company comprises 20 exceptionally creative and talented inventors who will contribute to the development of numerous synergistic products.”

Lerman will continue to serve as CEO of Yext, his primary focus, while also acting as chairman of Wonder Inventions.

A Product-Focused Approach

When questioned about a unifying vision for the company, Lerman responded that modern business ventures often prioritize the product itself over the company’s overall identity.

He attributed this shift to venture capitalists’ preference for scalable, single-product ideas.

Embracing Unique Ventures

“A traditional venture capital firm might not invest in Dynascore,” Lerman conceded, “due to its unconventional nature and potentially limited market size.”

However, he remains optimistic, viewing it as a strong initial product with the potential for further successful innovations.
